Vintage Asian Parrot & Flower Painting ~ Silk

A unique vintage Asian Chinoiserie style Parrot & Flower Painting in beautiful muted shades of light blue, green and pink tones. Painted in India on Silk with completely naturally-derived pigments, which was likely made for the Asian Market. Approximately from the 1980's.  

Silk painting is an ancient art form originating in China. Artists use fine silk as a canvas, employing specialised brushes to create intricate designs. The smooth surface of silk allows for delicate brushstrokes and subtle color blending, resulting in luminous and detailed artworks. 

We recommend to frame the painting in a beautiful gold bamboo frame with a contrast coloured passe-partout. Please get in touch with us if you would like us to get it framed for you, which would get charged at extra cost. 

Please note that this is a vintage piece of art which shows signs of aging, such as small chips of paint. There is a tear at the top right corner, which is easy to hide by adding matting around the edges and just reduce the size of the artwork. Small foxing stains.
